A threat to Jewish life

An outcry from Malca Goldstein-Wolf.

We can discuss who or what belongs to Germany, but those are mere words.

The facts have long since determined what everyday life in our country really is. This includes the fact that increasingly more often (supposedly) minor refugees somewhere in Germany choose to resolve conflicts with knives and violence. Women are being spontaneously attacked, sometimes just murdered.

It’s also become „normal“ that Arab clans control neighborhoods where the German police has lost control and authority. It’s also become „normal“ that anti-Jewish attacks are often described as right-wing violence, even if the culprits are Muslims. Those who state facts, however, are scornfully categorized as racists. They must reconsider carefully whether they dare to express themselves again.

By the way, the Jew-haters are not only the extremist Islamists. They are our Muslim neighbors who remain silent or who are already educating their children to despise those of other faiths, especially Jews. Although they are people like you and me, they’ve been poisoned by religious ideologies that are contrary to Western values. Who decides whether such ideologies belong to Germany? No one asked me!

This hatred has now reached even the youngest children in primary schools. Instead of jump rope and ball playing, children are insulting, teasing and even threatening death to their – often Jewish – classmates. As if all this has nothing to do with indoctrination, politicians continue to court extremist Islamic associations such as the DITIB (Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs) and thus support the dessimination of hatred against those of other faiths, along with the nationalist ideology of the Turkish leader Erdogan.

All this is happening like a flu virus spreading out over the land. Measures that modern medicine may offer are simply not being applied by leading doctors; instead people are being sacrificed.

Confidence in politics is so damaged that one is already grateful if a government minister is sincere in his or her support for us Jews, even though that should be self-evident. The daily incidents seem like a bad dream, but are becoming increasingly worse. There is no end in sight; on the contrary, hope is fading. We are loosing control of the situation and it is high time to protect the descendants of those who were gassed in this country just over seventy years ago.

What some people say belongs to Germany these days is a disgrace to democracy, an attack on our values and a threat to Jewish life. I don’t know if the damage done to this country is irreparable.

What I do know is that the situation is real bad!
