I was just five weeks old

I was just five weeks old, when Germans were singling out Jews. They selected Jews to be exterminated. Some of those singled out were children!

I was born on May 22, 1976. A month later on June 27, 1976, Air France flight 139 from Tel Aviv to Paris was hijacked after a stopover in Athens. There were twelve crew members and two hundred fifty-eight passengers on board. The hijackers called themselves „Commando Che Guevara“, named after a man who lets the hearts of many armchair rebels beat faster. The terrorists belonged to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. However, two German members of the “Revolutionary Cells” – Wilfried Böse and Brigitte Kuhlmann – also participated. Together they forced the Air France plane to fly to Entebbe airport in Uganda; there they enjoyed the support of the Idi Amin regime.

The purpose of the hijacking was to force the release of fifty three convicted criminals in Israel, France, the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland, including members of two German terrorist organizations, the Red Army Faction led by Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof, and the “June 2 Movement”. In addition, the kidnappers demanded five million dollars from the French Government for the return of the aircraft.

The passengers were held hostage at the Entebbe airport terminal. The two Germans, Wilfried Böse and Brigitte Kuhlmann, were responsible for determining and separating Jews on the basis of Israeli passports, but also on presumed Jewish names. That led to some passengers being falsely identified as Jews. After the selection process, all non-Jews were allowed to leave unharmed. (The pilot and his crew heroically remained.) One Holocaust survivor proved his Jewishness by showing his tattooed prisoner number so as to remind Wilfried Böse of selection procedures which determined life and death in Nazi concentration camps. Wilfried Böse replied that he wasn’t a Nazi, but was rather an idealist.

Today I am forty years old, and idealists are still making selections. Although in recent decades some of the worst crimes against humanity have been committed in Rwanda, Cambodia, Srebrenica and people are still being brutally repressed in Saudi Arabia, Korea and Iran, the United Nations has signed off more resolutions against Israel than against all other nations! The United Nations is fixated on a tiny population making up a mere 0.1% of the total world population. While 99.9% of the world is viewed with leniency, 0.1% has been selected for special attention. For example, at the 59th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women only Israel was condemned for violations of women’s rights! The International Federation of Soccer Associations (FIFA) awarded Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup, where according to law, women, homosexuals and dissenters are regularly tortured and murdered. In May 2015 the FIFA was even seriously discussing the exclusion of Israel from the association.

It’s selective when the United Nations admonishes only Israel.
It’s selective when someone declares Israel to be the greatest threat to world peace.
It’s selective when someone blames only Israel for the suffering in Gaza.
It’s selective to name just Israel an apartheid state, although it is the only country in the Middle East where there is no apartheid.
It’s selective when it’s alleged that the media tends to be pro-Israel.
It’s selective to talk of „illegal Jewish settlers“, but not also designate non-Jewish settlers as illegal.
It’s selective to boycott only Israeli products.

They say being selective is being idealistic!

But this kind of idealism can be thwarted. Forty years ago, there was one state that freed nearly all those captive Jews from the clutches of the kidnappers: Israel!

Nearly eighty years ago when Jews were being selected by Germans brandishing whips and pistols, there was no Israel. In 1941, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Führer of Nazi Germany met in Berlin. Al-Husseini was housed magnificently and was given a large sum of money for expenditures. The funds were provided by the sale of gold stolen from Jews. Al-Husseini demanded his offices be situated in a apartment confiscated from Jews. His staff was housed in a half-dozen other houses provided by the Nazis. Additionally, al-Husseini was given a suite in the luxurious Hotel Adlon in Berlin and allowed access to holiday apartments in Hotel Zittau and Oybin Castle in Saxony. In those accommodations, a „final solution“ was discussed.

Al-Husseini wanted to rule a „Jew-free“ country. The Mufti and the Führer discussed methods of a systematic and industrial extermination of all Jews. After that meeting, the conference at Wannsee took place. Adolf Eichmann informed Al-Husseini in detail about the plans for exterminating European Jews in the map room of the Berlin SS headquarters. Eichmann’s aide testified that the Grand Mufti was very impressed and so taken by this plan for exterminating the Jews that he asked Eichmann to send him an expert as a personal assistant to design and construct death factories in Jerusalem as soon as Germany had won the war and the Mufti himself was in power.

The world community looked away when Jews were persecuted and murdered in Europe. It was only when they were threatened by Nazi Germany that action was taken! Today the world looks away again, when it comes to Jews. The whole world? No! A small country is not looking away: Israel!

When 850,000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries 70 years ago, Israel admitted them as new citizens. When Jews were selected in Entebbe, Israel freed them. Every time when Israel is attacked with rockets, which are fired with the intention to kill as many Jews as possible, Israel shoots these missiles down from the skies. Sometimes those rockets are fired many times a day for weeks on end. When Jews are abducted, Israel uses all its expertise and humanity to free them. Israel will never accept selection disguised as idealism!

For Jews, there are two alternatives today: to be loved as victims of hatred or to be hated if they defend themselves. So, if I had to choose between “popular but dead” and “alive but unpopular”, I’ll choose life!

Dear Nations of the World,

Not united, you did nothing when Jews were persecuted. And now as the United Nations, you’re unified against Jews when they defend themselves. I’d like to comment on that in a direct way: Fuck you!
