Jerusalem is the capital of Israel

A Jew, a Christian and a Muslim meet.

Christian: You Jews killed Jesus!
Jew: No, those were the Muslims.
Muslim: That’s bullshit. Two thousand years ago there were no Muslims.
Christian: He’s right!
Jew: That’s right. Now we can discuss Jerusalem!

Indeed, let’s talk about Jerusalem.

Not only is Jerusalem the capital of Israel, it is the most important Jewish city. One of the three holiest holidays of Judaism ends with the prayer: לשנה הבאה בירושלים‎‎ (Next year in Jerusalem)

Judaism knows only one holy place. It is the Temple that stood on the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount is located in Jerusalem. This city is as sacred to Jews as Mecca is to Muslims and the Vatican to Catholics. Those who deny Jews Jerusalem could just as easily deny Muslims Mecca and Catholics the Vatican.

The word Jerusalem is first mentioned in the Jewish Tanach. The first language in which the city was described is Hebrew, the language of the Jews and, besides Arabic, the national language of Israel.

Jerusalem was the capital of the kingdom of Israel! This kingdom existed three thousand years ago. In the long history of its existence, Jerusalem was the capital only of Jews.

Jews have lived in Jerusalem for over three millennia. The Jew Jesus preached here. Jews never were nor ever will be illegal settlers anywhere in the city, whether at its north, south, west or east points!

On 23 December 2016, UN Resolution 2334 declared that Jews are illegal settlers in East Jerusalem, although they’ve lived there longer than Christians and Muslims. This resolution is not worth the paper it’s printed on. Expulsion of Jews cannot reflect international law! Not even if all the world’s nations are in agreement. Nations can be wrong when it comes to Jews. It’s happened before.

There were no Christians in Europe 2000 years ago. More than 1500 years ago there were no Muslims in the Middle East. So why aren’t Christians and Muslims seen as illegal settlers in those parts of the world, but Jews are, although they’ve been living in Jerusalem continuously for over 3,000 years, long before any other community active today has even existed?

Berlin was founded before there were Germans. Paris was built before the French came. London was born before the English came into being. Anyone who says that Jerusalem is not the capital of the Jews must logically dispute that Berlin is the German capital, Paris the French capital and London the English capital. The Parliament and the Supreme Court of Israel are in Jerusalem.

It is completely absurd not to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. That the capital of Israel is Jerusalem is plain fact!

Jerusalem has been, is and will always remain the capital of the Jews, and as long as it is the capital of Israel, Jews, Christians, Muslims and all other religions will be able to freely practice their traditions there, as provided for by the laws of Israel, which guarantee equal rights to all citizens of the country, no matter what they believe in, who they love, what they look like or what gender they have. This is unique in the region. As unique as Israel!

  1. Apostroph schreibt:
